The Spierings SK375-AT3 is the first Cradle to Cradle mobile tower crane for the intelligent crane hirer who respects nature and future generations. Thanks to the upcycling of crane structural elements supported by advanced computer programs, the crane meets the specifications of corporate responsibility (Cradle to Cradle in a literal sense).
Anything that can be reused is reused — but without making any concessions in terms of quality. Reusing structural elements in this way means that the machine is not scrapped once it is written off; this saves a lot of energy because the discarded material is not melted down for reuse. Energy is saved because new steel doesn't have to be produced. Reusing the structural elements cuts the emissions of CO² by ± 60 tonnes, which has an enormously positive influence on the greenhouse effect. To put this in context, the average family in the Netherlands produces ± 9 tonnes CO² every year. Sulphur dioxide emissions, which cause acid rain, are also reduced significantly by reusing structural elements. Every part of the SK375-AT3 is the same quality as new. The machine has a new Euro V engine with a ZF automatic transmission. The axle spacing on the truck is adjusted to ensure an optimum distribution of weight. The crane is delivered as a new crane, which has benefits in terms of the residual value and financing. The price is in between the price for an overhauled crane and the price for a new one. An additional benefit of the SK375-AT3 is that it is in perfect keeping with the current trend of "corporate responsibility". Some material is reused and production is switching to technology that is more environmentally friendly and energy efficient. This upgrading and improving of the characteristics means that we can refer to it as upcycling.
The SK375-AT3 crane is a compact three-axle crane that can comfortably drive on the roads and is also at home in hard-to-reach locations. The assembly time is an unbelievably fast 10 minutes and the crane can move no less than 1.9 tonnes at a radius of 30.4 metres and a hook height of 20.6 metres. The maximum load is 5000 kg and the maximum lifting height is 34.9 m peaked.
